Tarot Poetry
by Michael Gerald Sheehan

Have You Met My Daddy

Have you met my daddy...
Have you met my daddy...
Have you met my daddy...
He's a good old man.

You can take your time if you want to.
You can take as long as you like.
You can live your life like you want to
And if you make mistakes, it's alright:

Don't worry,

'Cause he knows it's all a part of growing up.
He was young once to. He was just like you:
Wandering all alone, wondering what to do.

Have you met my daddy...
Have you met my daddy...
Have you met my daddy...
He's a good old man.

IV - The Emperor

Creativity is stifled without a means of expression. Knowledge and skill give us more freedom to express ourselves, but they must be earned by concentrated effort. The lesson of the Emperor is that the tools necessary for self-expression are acquired through patient self-mastery.
