Prisoner Of Fear

Years ago, life was easier:
All my choices seemed so clear -
But the easy life gets lonelier
'Til you're a prisoner of fear.

All the happiness I could have had
If I'd thought it could be mine.
All I had to do was go for it
And take my first step out of line.

If you're feeling helpless,
I will hold you tighter:
I will make your faint heart strong.

If your heart is broken,
I will squeeze you tighter
And I will hold you all night long.

We two will travel to forever tonight
We two will travel to forever.
We two will travel to forever tonight
We two will travel to forever.

XV - The Devil

When we believe that we are separate from the universe, abandoned and powerless, we make compromises out of fear. These can be relationships, jobs, projects or agreements that we wouldn't be involved in if we thought there was another option. The lesson of the Devil is that our own fear is the only thing that holds us in unhappy situations, and fear has no power except when we surrender to it.
